This is very much the start of your equity release journey. It all about exploring your options and gaining an understanding of what Equity Release has to offer. Your Free Consultation and Recommendation

At this stage, you are ready to get further information. During your free consultation, your advisor will ask questions about you and what you want to achieve with Equity Release, your property, finances and health; all with the view of understanding your circumstances better to provide you with a tailored recommendation booklet that will outline the most suitable plan for you. We send you the recommendation booklet both as a hard copy in the post and via email.

*The consultation is free and you have no obligation. Should you decide to proceed, your typical advice fee is £1,795 and is only paid if your case completes and you receive the funds.

Your Advice Presentation

Having received your tailored recommendation booklet, your advisor will call you to explain the plan, its features and why it has been recommended to you. This will ensure you have a great understanding of how equity release and your plan will work for you. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions around the specific recommendation that your advisor has presented.

Application

At this point, with the help of your advisor, you have decided Equity Release is right for you. You then need to apply; your advisor will guide you through the application, making this stage easy and straight forward. With the majority of the lenders, we can submit the application digitally, meaning you do not even need to lift a pen to get the ball rolling.

You will be contacted by your dedicated administration team who will introduce themselves and guide you through the next steps. They will instruct your chosen solicitors and the valuation (do not worry if you do not have your own solicitor as we will recommend one for you).

Valuation & Offer

This is when the independent surveyor will give you a call to arrange a time that is mutually suitable for them to come out and complete your valuation. The valuation report will be sent back to the lender, and within a few days they will have reviewed this and an Offer will be produced. This will be then sent to both you and your solicitors as a hard copy.

Solicitors and Legal

The final stage before completion. Your solicitor will visit you in the comfort of your own home to give you independent legal advice on the offer. Along with this they will witness the signing of the documents making this process quick and easy for you. Once this is completed, your solicitor will take the signed documents away with them and have them sent back to the lender, who will complete their final legal checks and set a completion date for the tax-free cash to be released.

Completion

Congratulations, your funds are released.
